Steps
Manual start
Press the tab on the step to run the flow by hand
When step — What starts the flow. Step type when-manual.
How it works
A hand-started entry: the flow runs from here when you press the run tab on this step. Its test data stands in for a real trigger — pick a device and add any values the run should see: trigger members (trigger.state, trigger.friendlyState, trigger.name, trigger.attribute.battery…) and variables (var.count). Runs with the values on screen, no publish needed.
Example
Manual start (test device: Front door, trigger.state = on, trigger.friendlyState = Open, var.count = 3) → Variable is (count above 2) → Send notification ("{{trigger.name}} is {{trigger.friendlyState}}")Rehearse the door flow without opening the door.
Options
| Option | Key | Kind | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Button label | label | text | no | — |
| Test device (as the trigger) | testEntityId | entity | no | — |
| Test values | testValues | keyValue | no | up to 20 entries; trigger.… rows mock that part of what started the run; anything else presets a flow variable. A member you leave out is read from the test device as for a real trigger. Attribute and variable values typed as a number or true / false are stored as such. |
Exits
One exit. Triggers have no incoming connection.
